Description Dietes grandiflora—fortnight lily. A South African member of the Iris family common in coastal California gardens. While each flower lasts just a short while the plant continues to bloom until late in the year. One of its common names "Fortnight lily" refers for the tendency of flowers to come in waves two weeks or so apart. Photographed in a private garden in Albany, CA.
