Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Uniform cap of the type side cap (garrison cap, overseas cap, German: Schiffchen) for Norwegian volunteer soldiers associated with the Norges SS or the Norwegian Legion (German: SS-Freiwilligen-Legion Norwegen) in 1941, Norwegian collaborationist military units intended to support Nazi Germany's warfare against the Bolsheviks on the Eastern Front during World War II.

The gray cap model was likely designed for the Waffen-SS, while the sewn-on cloth insignia on the left side displays the Nazi inspired 'suncross-eagle' emblem (eagle/falcon/raven with sun wheel) of Nasjonal Samling, Quisling's Norwegian fascist party before and during World War II. The cap insignia was initially used and was probably later replaced by the SS variant of the national German eagle-and-swastika of the Third Reich.
