Description

I'm guessing these would have been taken some time before the First World War, but what are the uniforms? And what is the medal (clearer in the neighbouring picture)? Soldier on the left is from the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars. The man on the right is in the Yeomanry too. The photograph is after 1905, but before 1914. The subject on the right is an officer of the North Somerset Yeomanry, who wore white facings with a white plume - the Yorkshire dragoons were similarly dressed, but they had a rose on the centre of the badge of the helmet.

One of four images showing this man, two with his his wife and one with his son (I pressume). Another small selection from the box of negatives recently acquired.
