English: Mystery crop in the Leicestershire countryside. Phacelia growing in profusion at Hall Farm. For what purpose I have no idea except that the bees were in heaven! – Recently supplied information (Feb 2008): Phacelia is a useful green manure crop. It is sown as a crop and then cut and ploughed back in to release nutrients. It's also used as cover for game birds. |
