Description Close-up of the drive-box from a en:Myford Lathe, showing the badge (different from the company logo).
Date
Source originally posted to Flickr as Myford lathes. The lathe type (Myford ML7) was produced from 1946‒ca. 1979 [1]. An old Myford logo, representing an even earlier product of Myford is present within the photograph—in this case the logo is heavily degraded. A name of the original designer/drawing of the logo is not stated and unknown, but was likely an (unknown) in-house drafter. Based on the positioning of the seven visible levers/hand controls, the lathe sketch in the centre is itself a reproduction of an engineering sketch [2][3] of an ML2 lathe, present in the 1938 Myford catalogue. As an engineering/technical drawing of a product, this would have been necessarily produced prior to the production of that catalogue—ie. ca. pre-1938 (therefore >86 years ago).
