Description A FAMOUS LONDON BOARD SCHOOL Our picture shows us the Hugh Myddelton Board School, situated in Clerkenwell. London The building is a fine representative of many others of a similar kind which the London School Board has of late years erected in all parts of the Metropolis. Not only has it accommodation for 600 boys, an equal number of girls, and over 800 infants, but it is also furnished with a wing for the instruction of deaf and dumb children, and is now one of the largest and most important centres for the leaching of deaf mutes The school lake, its name from Hugh Myddelton, the famous founder of the New River Company, which first brought an ample and full supply of good water into London from the River Lea.
