Description
Français : Une partie de la racine de Fagus sylvatica avec la ramification des radicelles infestées par le champignon, cause de leur difformité très variée. Les radicelles a et b infestées par le champignon sont plus grosses, difformes ; vers la base, elles deviennent plus minces et se rapprochent davantage des racines normales. Les racines infestées à la base sont les plus semblables à celles du Monotropa, comme le font voir c et d. La limite entre ces racines et les ramifications des racines supérieures est bien tranchée, tellement qu'elles ont l'apparence d'un corps étranger fixé sur la racine du hêtre.
