[edit]DescriptionMy Public Lands Roadtrip- North Fork American Wild and Scenic Rivers in California (18930470101).jpg |
The roadtrip heads out for a wild ride on the famous Giant Gap run of the even more famous North Fork American Wild and Scenic River, a part of the BLM’s National Conservation Lands. It’s one of the most challenging runs in Northern California - and just less than an hour from Sacramento. In some places, cliffs tower 2,000 feet above a path through rapids choked with boulders. You can enjoy the view without the rapids from the Stevens Trail, about four miles each way and 1200 vertical feet to the river. Photo by Bob Wick, BLM |
