Summary

Description

Welcome to the “My Public Lands” magazine, an exciting new collection of articles telling some of the little-known stories about the BLM-managed public lands that we all love.

These lands present a treasure trove of opportunities to explore, learn and amaze as you will see from the articles we are bringing you. Taken together, these stories echo the BLM’s mission “to sustain the health, diversity and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.”

These articles, like the BLM itself, span the country: from caring for caribou habitat in Alaska to blazing a new Oregon Trail for mountain bikers to learning how a lighthouse on Florida’s coast helped fight the Nazis in World War II.

This Flickr set includes the photo-rich articles along with original images for public enjoyment and use. Read the magazine: on.doi.gov/1oeN5mX
