Heading north from Little Harbor you see the Pacific Ocean to the west and the entrance to Catalina Harbor at the apex of blue ocean. If you look closely, you can see a few boats at the harbor entrance. These lofty heights reminded me of a poem I had seen earlier on the trail at the top of Hermit Gulch Trail. But when I climb up to my island peak, escape awhile the madding world of strife, I envy not an earthly thing. This life, which sometimes calls, is swept clean of its cares by friendly winds, and once again I smile. Ay, truly, life seems sweet - a thing worthwhile.
