Description
English: Located 138 kilometres from Rawalpindi and Islamabad and about 76 kilometres from Abbottabad , Muzzafarabad is the administrative capital of the Kashmir situated at the confluence of Jehlum and Neelum Rivers.The city is famous for its gardens and cliffs.The vegetation in this region of Pakistan is uniquely different from all the pine tree consistent vegetation throughout the Northern areas of Pakistan . Here , the vegetation is more freshly green and trees have lesser height but greater mass. The city's outskirts are laden with occasional waterfalls and the climate is snowy during winters and pleasant during summers. The most distinctive features of the city inclue ,'Domail' , the juncture between River Neelum and Jehlum. Where the vast rivers combine ,the dark blue colored water of River Neelum is visibly differentiated form the white colored water of River Jehlum forming a blue-white border.The place is also popular for two historical Mughal forts, The Red Fort and The Black Fort aside Neelum river.Pir Chanasi is another high mountain (2924 km above sea level) located 32 km from the city.Machiara National Park is a national Park located within the region and a globally significant Park being operated by internationally projects.Created by a landslip several years ago lies Subri Lake ,10 km from Muzzafarabad which consist of a small huts and is ultimately a well-known picnic spot.There is also a mini zoo and a fish hatchery located at Patika, the gateway to Neelum Valley which again is a must -to-be-visited place and is 19 km from the city.The City also consists of the most grand Pearl Continental Resort within the entire country comprising of a window view of the entire city .Perhaps, the building is locally termed as the 'building of glass' with its mesmerizing architecture and several exhibitions for selling precious local hand-made goods to the tourists. Muzzafarabad is the hub of Pakistani tourism and should be a must-visit to explore the mighty of nature lying within the boundaries of Pakistan.
