Notes In September 1644 six galleys of the Order of Malta under command of the knight Boisbaudran captured a Turkish galleon containing six thousend quarters of wheat. Among the prisoners taken were 350 slaves and 30 women of the highest rank. One of the ladies had with her an infant child, who was carried into slavery along with herself. The father of that child was the Sultan Ibrahim. The child, educated under the direction of the Grand Master of Malta, subsequently become a Dominican monk.
