II. Der Fluß ist ein Bild des menschlichen Lebens, wie es sein soll.
Er wird immer stärker, trägt Schisse usw. Er befruchtet Felder und Wiesen und gibt uns Fische zur Nahrung. So soll auch unser Leben, je mehr es erstarkt, nützlicher und wertvoller werden. Nutzen für die Allgemeinheit; nur dann hat es Wert.
III. Der Fluß ist ein Bild des menschlichen Lebens, wie es nicht sein soll.
Er tritt über seine Ufer, verwüstet Wälder, Felder, Wohnstätten, bringt tausendfaches Elend. Bild des leidenschaftlichen, jähzornigen, durch keine Achtung vor Gesetz und Recht gehaltenen Lebens. Beispiele aus dem Leben.
Schluß: Nochmals Hinweis auf Verwandtschaft von Fluß und Leben des Menschen. „Eine Welle sagt's der andern: Ach, wie rasch ist dieses Wandern! Und die zweite sagt zur dritten: Kurz gelebt, ist kurz gelitten!"
4Z. Fische und Schiffe.
1. Gestalt im allgemeinen.
2. Schwanz und Steuer.
3. Flossen und Ruder.
4. Belastung des Fischkörpers und des Schiffskörpers: (Unten Eingeweide, oben die Fischblase. -— Unten Ballast, oben leichtere Gegenstände.)
44. Der Hecht und der Rarpfen.
I. 1) Beide gehören zu den beliebtesten Fischen und lassen sich am leichtesten züchten. 2) Der Hecht ist ein gefürchteter Räuber in den europäischen Seen und Flüssen, der Karpfen ein harmloser Bewohner derselben, der in seiner Jugend niemanden mehr zu fürchten hat als den Hecht.
II. In der äußeren Erscheinung zeigt sich manche Verschiedenheit. Der Hecht hat einen langen, schlanken Leib mit festsitzenden, kleinen Schuppen, einen niedergedrückten Kopf mit einer breitschnäbeligen, weitgespaltenen Schnauze, die im Innern dicht mit Zähnen besetzt ist. Der Karpfen hat einen kurzen Leib, der gegen den Rücken und den Bauch hin weiter, gegen den Schwanz hin enger Wird, größere, leicht ablösbare
