Entgegnet mit Lächeln: „Eins ist gewiß;
Was ihr auch erlangt durch der Heiden Flucht,
Nach meiner Beute hat keiner gesucht.
Und doch ist's das Köstlichste in der Tat,
Was man erobert vom Schlachtfelde hat."
Drauf winkt er den Dienern; auf tut sich das Tor,
Da dränget ein Heer sich von Kindern hervor,
Von Knaben und Mägdlein so zart und hold,
Die Wangen wie Röslein, die Locken wie Gold.
Sie sinken aufs Knie vor dem Gottesmann Und schmiegen mit Weinen an ihn sich an.
„Das ist meine Beute," der Bischof sagt,
„Nach der hat nicht einer Von euch gefragt.
Ich fand sie verlassen in Harm und Not,
Erwürgt ihre Väter, die Mütter tot.
Da führt' ich sie alle nach Wien herein Und will den Verwaisten ein Vater sein."
Und als er zu ihnen gesagt das Wort,
Da schwiegen beschämt wohl die andern dort;
Was alle sie auch nach Hause gebracht,
Nicht glich es der Beute, die er gemacht.
Aus vorstehendem Gedichte soll der Inhalt so wiedererzählt werden, daß folgende Fragen dadurch beantwortet werden:
I. Wo waren die Fürsten mit ihren Kriegern versammelt?
II. Welche Aufforderung klang aus ihren Reden?
III. Was erzählten die einzelnen Teilnehmer am Kampfe?
IV. Welcher Teilnehmer an der Gesellschaft verhielt sich am edelmütigsten?
V. Warum mußten schließlich alle anderen schweigen?
Es dürfte sich folgender Aufsatz herausbilden:

I. Nach der Belagerung Wiens durch die Türken im Jahre 1683 versammelten sich die Fürsten und Helden im Kaisersaale zu Wien.
II. Während sie beim fröhlichen Mahle saßen, forderte einer die übrigen auf, ihre Beute zu nennen.
III. Darauf erzählte einer nach dem anderen, was ihm zuteil geworden war. Ein Pole begann: „Ich habe mir des Sultans Gold geholt." „Und ich erkämpfte mir mit blutigem
