Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Muslim Burial Ground was built to house the bodies of 19 Indian soldiers who died in the Brighton Pavilion hospital during the first world war and subsequently 27 Indian soldiers killed in the second world war.

It has been refurbished in 2014 on the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the 1914-18 war to celebrate the sacrifice of those Commonwealth soldiers who died fighting for this country.

It is bounded by ornate brick walls and has a domed archway entrance and minaret, reflecting the design of the nearby Shah Jahan Mosque, which was the first one in the UK.
This is a photo of listed building number 1236560.
