Description
English: Third Reich (Nazi Germany) militaria, memorabilia, collectables:
  • Adolf Hitler's watercolor of the farmer's market (Viktualienmarkt) at St. Peter's Chuch (Sankt Peter, Alter Peter), Munich, given to Rudolf Hess
  • Hess, autograph note, written the day after landing in Scotland, specyfing two german prisoners he wanted present during his interrogation
  • Rudolf Hess' s Golden Nazi Party Pin, Number 16
  • Oxygen mask used by Hess in his flight from Germany to Scotland

(On 10 May 1941, Adolf Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess parachuted into Scotland, landing in a field near Eaglesham. The prominent Nazi had flown solo for nearly 1,000 miles from Bavaria in a Messerschmitt Bf 110, apparently on a peace mission in the days leading up to Germany's invasion of Russia.)

Photo taken in 2015 showing items from the exhibitions in the former International Museum of World War II in Natick, Massachusetts, a few miles west of Boston. The museum existed from 1999 to 2019 and housed a by-reservation-only collection of memorabilia and militaria consisting of over 7,000 artifacts, 100 uniforms, books, photos, etc.
