Summary

[edit]
Description

The main display area of Museum of Flight, Boeing Field, Seattle, populated by many general aviation, commercial, and military aircraft.

The aircraft in the foreground is a Lockheed M-21, CIA-operated A-12 variant rather than the later Air Force SR-71, and more specifically, this is the M-21 variant which was built to carry the D-21 drone, mounted on top. Only two M-21s were built, and when a drone malfunction crashed the other M-21, the M-21 was cancelled, and the D-21 was launched from B-52s before being cancelled.

Also can be seen are the belly of a DC-3 (very top), a Vought Corsair (in the back), and the only surviving Boeing 80 (right).
