Description

Numa colina sobranceira à cidade de Vila Nova de Famalicão, lado Norte, encontra-se a Capela da Lapa que foi construída nos anos 70 do século XVI, tendo por orago celeste, S. Sebastião. Local privilegiado, enriquecido pelas memórias do passado com vestígios de uma história e de uma vivência comum, a Capela foi transformada num Museu dedicado à Arte Sacra, em 2001. O Museu da Arte Sacra contém no seu interior valias que estiveram ligadas à Religião Católica, peças devocionais, peças decorativas e funcionais, para além de um Arquivo Histórico do Arciprestado de Vila Nova de Famalicão. Entre as peças mais valiosas encontram-se um retábulo formado por talha dourada e marmoreados, uma imagem de Nossa Senhora da Lapa, em madeira de meados do século XVIII, a custódia de Famalicão, do séc. XVII, em metal dourado constituída por cálice e hostensório, entre outras.
