Description

Aponta-se como construção do Edifício o ano de 1736, foi mandado edificar por ordem do Corregedor da Comarca de Pinhel, Vicente Pereira da Cunha. No piso térreo situava-se a cadeia e existiam 3 arcos que sustentavam a estrutura do pavimento. Brasão com as armas reais junto ao cunhal, enquadrado por ornatos curvilíneos e duas serpentes afrontadas em alto-relevo.Inscrição 1 encimada pelas armas da cidade (pinheiro coroado por falcão) e ladeada por dois óculos circulares com enxalço estriado. Tem, no 1º piso, pavimento lajeado e 2 compartimentos, com tectos planos.Escadas de caracol em madeira dão acesso ao 2º piso, com pavimento em soalho e igualmente com 2 compartimentos, com coberturas em tecto de caixotões tendo ao centro as armas da cidade; respectivamente.Solar de arquitectura civil barroca. Paço Municipal Barroco de planta rectangular irregular. Pavimento: lajeado e soalho, cobertura: tecto plano e tecto de caixotões. Quanto às características particulares destacam-se a dicotomia funcional entre os dois pisos (Baixos - Cadeia; Altos - Salão Nobre). Armas reais enquadradas por ornatos curvilíneos e duas serpentes afrontadas 3.Concelho (actual Cooperativa Agrícola); foi depois talho municipal, quartel de bombeiros e tesouraria municipal); 1940 - instalação do museu municipal. <a href="http://www.cm-pinhel.pt/zona2.asp">www.cm-pinhel.pt/zona2.asp</a>
