Català: Museu Marítim de Barcelona. Exposició del centenari de Trasmediterránea, del 27 de gener i fins l'1 de maig de 2017, amb peces de les col·leccions de la Compañía Trasmediterránea i del Museu Marítim de Barcelona.
Español: Museu Marítim de Barcelona. Exposición del centenario de Trasmediterránea. Maqueta del Ciudad de Palma. Barco construido en los astilleros Cantieri Navali Triestino de Monfalcone (Trieste) por encargo de la Compañia Trasmediterranea, se colocó la quilla el 28 de Marzo de 1.928. Botado el 18 de Noviembre de 1929. Salio de Trieste con destino a Barcelona el 6 de Abril de 1930 ostentando el nombre de Principe Alfonso. El 16 de Abril de 1930 salió en viaje inaugural de Barcelona a Palma. A partir de esta fecha quedó adscrito a la linea de Barcelona a Palma, alternando con su gemelo Infante D. Jaime entrado en servicio en Septiembre del año anterior. En abril de 1.931, con el advenimiento de la República, este buque que ostentaba el nombre de Principe Alfonso recibió el de Ciudad de Palma. En los primeros años de la postguerra prestó sus servicios en la linea rapida de Barcelona- Cádiz-Canarias y solo ocasionalmente en la de Barcelona-Palma. Al finalizar el año 1967 cesó en su vida activa de correo marítimo, quedando amarrado en el puerto de Barcelona y en marzo de 1968 fue vendido en pública subasta. Remolcado a Vilanova y la Geltrú, fue desguazado. |
