Description

Cañón de asalto Sturmgeschütz III Ausführung G Sd.Kfz 142/1, más conocido como StuG III. Fabricado por Alkett en Alemania desde 1942, llegaron a construirse 7.893 unidades, de las cuales 10 llegaron a España por ferrocarril a través de Irún en septiembre de 1943. Fueron retirados en 1954. En la actualidad, y tras ser usados algunas de las unidades para probar prototipos de diversos vehículos (obuses autopropulsados y lanzacohetes), quedan en España 3 tanques intactos: dos en Segovia y uno en el museo de El Goloso.

Sturmgeschütz III assault gun Ausfrung G Sd.Kfz 142/1, better known as StuG III. Manufactured by Alkett in Germany since 1942, were built 7,893 units, of which 10 came to Spain through Irun railway in September 1943. Were retired in 1954. Today, and after some of the units used to test prototypes of various vehicles (self-propelled howitzers and rocket launchers), 3 tanks remain intact in Spain, two in Segovia and one in the museum of El Goloso.
