Description

Obús autopropulsado Verdeja, de 75 mm. Es un prototipo de un proyecto español hecho en 1945 con el propósito de sustituir a los tanques ligeros T-26 y Panzer I entonces en servicio en el Ejército español. Su nombre se debe al capitán Félix Verdeja Vardales, que inició el proyecto en septiembre de 1937 cuando se encontraba al frente de la compañía de talleres del Batallón de Carros de Combate del bando nacional en la Guerra Civil Española. El carro fue construido por la Sociedad Española de Construcción Naval (SECN) de Reinosa, en Asturias. Problemas económicos llevaron a abandonar el proyecto. El prototipo estuvo arrinconado durante muchos años en el antiguo Polígono de Experiencias de Carabanchel, en Madrid. En 1973 fue enviado al Acuartelamiento Alfonso XIII de Sevilla -hoy abandonado-, que entonces servía de base al Regimiento de Caballeria Sagunto nº 7, disuelto en 1995. En 1985 el prototipo fue enviado a la Base Militar de El Goloso, donde hoy se exhibe en el hangar del museo.
