Español: Estela de guerrero de Solana de Cabañas. Bronce Final.
1000-850 a. C. Nº Inv. 1898/1/1. Museo Arqueológico Nacional de España.
English: Warrior stela. Slate. Late Bronze Age. Foundd in Solana de Cabañas (Cabañas del Castillo, Cáceres).
Found in the late 19th century, this was the first specimen to be discovered in a serie of stelae now numbering over one hundred monuments. The figure is surrounded by the symbols of his social rank, including a Mediterranean-style chariot in wich the engraver nevertheless made the mistake of placing de wheels on the axis, thus demonstrating that he had never actually seen the object he mas representing. Inv. number 1898/1/1. National Archaeological Museum of Spain. |
