English: A Flemish muselaar of the Ruckers school, signed Marc Ducornet, Paris 2008[1]. C/E-c’’’, 45 notes with short octave, traditional Flemish keyboard with bone slipped naturals and keyfronts with wood and parchment decoration, oak accidentals. Two decorative wood and parchment roses on the soundboard. Length 171 cm, depth 49.5 cm, height 26 cm. Case, lid and soundboard painted by Alison Woolley of Florence [2], the case in faux-marbre, the inside of the lid with the Orpheus legend, partly inspired by the painting by Niccolò dell'Abbate File:Abbate - Orpheus and Eurydice.jpg. On a table based on the harpsichord stand in the 1655 painting ‘Das Konzert’ by Gerard ter Borch in the Gemäldegalerie, Berlin. |
