Description

"O recinto muralhado de Evoramonte foi construído em forma de triângulo e, em cada vértice, subsistem ainda as portas com os arcos de ogiva trecentistas.

Existem 5 entradas: A Porta do Sol, ou da Vila, defendida por dois cubelos redondos e por dois baluartes; a Porta do Freixo, virada a sul e com lápide gótica, armorejada,da fundação dionisiana, defendida por dois cubelos redondos e dois baluartes; a Porta de S. sebastião, virada a poente e para a Ermida do titular, defendida por um baluarte; a Porta de S. Brás, virada para a ermida do titular e sem qualquer tipo de defesa; o Postigo, entrada virada a poente, constituindo uma simples abertura, sem valor arquitectónico, que se abre junto à Cisterna Pública, numa zona em que a muralha atinge 2 metros de espessura."
