His first wife, Ellen Brascye, to his right and his second wife, Dorothie Davenport of Calveley, Cheshire, to his left. (Heraldic Visitation to Cheshire, 1580). Left: Arms of Brassey (Per fess indented sable and argent, in the first quarter a mallard of the second), quartering Argent, an inescutcheon gules an orle of six martlets sable (? Brownlow: Or, an escutcheon in an orle of martlets sable; ? Lespring: Argent, an escutcheon in an orle of martlets sable); bottom: arms of the City of Chester; centre: arms of Greene (Gules, a lion rampant per fesse argent and sable crowned or and charged on the shoulder with a trefoil vert(Burke, General Armory, 1884, p.424)); right: arms of Davenport of Davenport, Cheshire (Argent, a chevron between three crosses-crosslet fitchée sable) quartering Argent, a fess gules between three (calves?) sable. |
