English: An advert for Murad “the Turkish cigarette” (P. Lorillard Co., est. 1760) dated 1927, from the January 1928 issue of the Theatre Magazine. Text includes: “EMBARRASSING MOMENTS / When her mother happens in upon the petting party…be nonchalant…light a MURAD CIGARETTE”; the tagline reads “MURAD / For those who feel entitled to life’s better things.” Digitalized by Fred Cherrygarden. |
