Description
English: Aerial view of the "Museumsinsel" island in Munich. The 1898 photograph shows the longish building of the former Isarkaserne barracks which is closely surrounded by exhibition buildings. The trapezoid building site above the island is the former Schwere-Reiter-Kaserne (cavalry barracks), where the german patent office buildings are situated today.
Deutsch: Luftaufnahme der Münchner Museumsinsel 1898. Zu erkennen ist das langgestreckte Gebäude der Isarkaserne, welches von Ausstellungsgebäuden umbaut ist. Rechterhand die Ludwigsbrücke. Der trapezförmige Gebäudekomplex gegenüber der Insel am oberen Flussufer ist die Schwere-Reiter-Kaserne, auf deren Gelände sich heute das Deutsche Patent- und Markenamt befindet.
