English: Multangular Tower, York The Tower was originally the corner of the Roman Fortress at York or Eboracum as it was called in Roman times, when the Romans first set up camp here, the defences would have been a temporary wooden stockade, on later would they have replaced the wooden defences with Stone walls, for more details about the tower see:
