Summary

[edit]
Description

Deadwood Peak, Mokelumne Wilderness, California, 20140628, #6509 pers. herb.

I've found this or similar species on several high peaks in the Great Basin. It will grow on any species of Xanthoria or Caloplaca, and in this one case it has spilled over onto Acarospora stapfiana as well, making it a sort of hyperparasite!
