Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Mudflow beneath Craig Pwllfa (2) A view from the source area of the recent flow looking down into the glacially excavated bowl of Cwm Pwllfa and showing the run out of the dislodged material. It amounts to perhaps 10 to 20 cubic metres of red soil, clay and boulders originally present as a shallow spur in a gullied zone beneath the main rock band. The gullying in this area suggests that this is just the latest of many many such flows which have taken place over millennia. A number of epsisodes of very heavy rain have perhaps contributed to renewed flow activity within the Brecon Beacons in the last couple of years.
