Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Moy's drainage mill. Moy's mill is located a short distance to the south of the River Ant; it was built to drain the marshes into the river and it is believed that its name is derived from Percy M. Moy, who lived at Smallburgh Manor during the 1920s. The mill once had a small tower and sails, a cap, a gallery and an 8-bladed fan. Only the ground floor level remains and the mill is covered in ivy and almost hidden under vegetation. It is still in use, now working with a diesel engine > 813042. A tragic accident happened here on Good Friday 1913, when a boy fell into the pit of the mill and his sister, Evelyn Abigail, was killed in an attempt to rescue him. The boy survived and lived to a good old age; both are buried in the churchyard of St Peter's in Smallburgh > 813005. http://www.norfolkmills.co.uk/WindmillsD/smallburgh-moys-drainage.html
