REFLEX DENTAL IRRITATION the insane, also that diseased conditionsof the teeth and mouth and deformitiesof the face and jaws are common amongthe children who are charged with crime,and that in some cases the correction ofthe attendant deformity or diseased con-dition has resulted in a complete changefor the better in both physical and mentalconditions. That manv cases of drunkenness,neurasthenia, melancholia, and insanityare due to mental overwork, businessworries, mental shock, physical shock fromtraumatic or surgical injuries, child-bear-ing, pelvic diseases, ansemia, generaltoxsemia from sepsis or the continuedfevers, specific disease, and heredity, etc.,all will agree; but it is a new thoughtthat there may be added to this long listof causes, oral sepsis, the irritations andperversions of functions due to deformitiesof the teeth, face, and jaws and to reflexdental irritations from malposed or im-pacted teeth.
