Français : Détail de la surface d'une accumulation de mousse au confluent de la moyenne Deûle (ou « canal de l’Esplanade ») de Lille avec la Basse-Deûle. Ce matin là, certaines bulles étaient exceptionnellement grosses et persistantes (20-25 cm de diamètre). La veille et les jours précédents la Deûle était également en partie couverte de mousse sur plusieurs centaines de mètres après l’écluse du Grand-Carré. Cette mousse est un indice de pollution organique et/ou chimique, pouvant évoquer la présence d'un détergent ou produit similaire (amonium quaternaire..). Le phénomène se produit épisodiquement, parfois accompagné d'une odeur particulière.
Dans les années 1960, il était beaucoup plus fréquent, et les couches de mousses pouvaient dépasser 1 voire 2 m d'épaisseur. A cette époque, il n'y avait pas de station d'épuration dans cette zone.
English: Detail of the surface of a foam accumulation at the confluence of the Mean-Deûle (or Esplanade canal) of Lille Basse-Deûle. This morning, some bubbles were unusually large. The day before and the days before the Deûle was also partially covered with foam for several hundred meters after the lock of Grand-Carré. This foam is an indicator of organic and / or chemical pollution, which can evoke the presence of a detergent or similar product (quaternary ammonium ..). The phenomenon occurs episodically, sometimes accompanied by a particular smell.
In the 1960s, it was much more common, and the layers of mosses could exceed 1 or even 2 m thick. At that time, there was no treatment plant in this area. |
