| Description |
English: Mount Batten Landing Stage The yellow ferry from the Barbican in Plymouth comes into the landing stage. Across the cattewater is the grey bulk of the Royal Citadel, built in the 1660s after the English Civil War. Plymouth had been Parliamentarian during the Civil War, and so the Citadel was built by Charles II with most of its guns facing the city rather than the sea. |
