Français : Le moulin de la Marquise est un précurseur. Perché en haut de son pittoresque chemin, hors du temps, ce remarquable moulin à vent en bois moud toujours le grain. Construit probablement en 1747 et mis en activité le 7 décembre 1752 à la demande du marquis Gabriel François de Chasteler, seigneur de Moulbaix, il remplace vraisemblablement un moulin à eau qui se trouvait plus bas dans le village.
Avec l'abandon des énergies traditionnelles dans le courant du 20e siècle, l'activité du moulin ralentit peu à peu. Il faut attendre 1942 pour qu'il soit remis en activité par Jozef Dhaenens, issu d'une famille de meuniers de Zwevegem. Après son classement comme monument en 1944, une importante restauration va permettre de le sauver, notamment grâce à la mise en place d'une nouvelle "estacque" provenant de Rollegem-Kapelle. Une seconde restauration importante remettra le moulin à neuf en 1984-85. Le meunier Joseph Dhaenens fils assure, avec sa famille, l'animation autour du moulin. Le moulin est ouvert tous les samedis de 14 à 18h. Des visites peuvent être organisées sur rendez-vous. Une visite combinée avec le Petit musée du Pain (Grosage) est possible pour les groupes scolaires. L'avant-midi est consacrée à la découverte du musée et à la fabrication du pain. L'après-midi, les groupes sont accueillis au moulin de la Marquise pour découvrir la fabrication de la farine. |
