English: This image possibly relates to the United States Navy visit to Sydney on 23 July 1925. This image was possibly taken on Hickson Road in Walsh Bay and the banner on the car reads: 'Welcome...Australia's...Commonwealth Band...' The fleet departed for New Zealand on 6 August. The fleet included USS CALIFORNIA (V), USS COLORADO (III), USS TENNESSEE (III), USS MARYLAND (III), USS WEST VIRGINIA (II), USS NEW MEXICO (I), USS MISSISSIPPI (III) and USS IDAHO (IV). |
