English: Motor yacht Conquista on Lake Union, Seattle, ca. 1920 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
English: The Conquista was built at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a submarine chaser for World War I, then converted to a private yacht probably by Blanchard Boat Works. The vessels owners lived in Pasadena, California, and the Conquista ended up being moored in Los Angeles. This photo shows the yacht at a dock on Lake Union, most likely taken soon after the conversion work took place. Henri A. Andersen was an employee of the N. J. Blanchard Boat Company.
