Description
English: Straight engine of a Mercedes-Benz L 701; license built Opel Blitz. 75.5 hp. Velocity 75 km/h. Built 1949. Seen in the PS Speicher, a transport museum in Einbeck, Germany.
After WW II, the Opel facilities in Brandenburg were dismantled at the behest of the Soviet Military Administration, while Daimler-Benz in Mannheim resumed building the Blitz 3.6 under the designation L 701 until 1949.
