Description
日本語: Two landing strips were built at Motobu Airstrip， Okinawa， Ryukyu Retto; the work was done by men of the 1113th Hdq.， Construction Group， the 822nd， 842nd， 183rd & 1897th Engineer Aviation Battalions. Construction was started on 1 July 1945 and on 6 August 1945， the first plane landed. This is an aerial view of one of the stages during the construction. 本部飛行場に作られた2本の着陸用滑走路。建設工事は1945年7月1日に第1113司令部建設群、第822、842、183、1897工兵航空大隊によって始められ、同8月6日には最初の飛行機が着陸した。(沖縄県公文書館)
