Summary

[edit]
Description

Lala Ali, 20, arrived in the Jamam camp in South Sudan in February. "We walked for eight days to the border, carrying water with us, but we did not have enough food," she said.

"We left because of the war, we heard that the fighting was getting nearer to us and we decided to leave."

Lala is one of the 36,000 people who are stranded in Jamam after fleeing the fighting across the border in Sudan’s Blue Nile State. They are among more than 100,000 men, women and children who have been displaced by the violence between the two countries.

The ‪British Government has announced that it will provide emergency support to help 100,000 people facing severe food shortages in South Sudan.
