[edit]DescriptionMosaic del Pla de l'Os, Barcelona (47906068561).jpg |
Every day thousands of people in the centre of Barcelona walk over an important piece of art by renowned artist Joan Miró. It was here in 1976 the artist saw the idea of placing one of his works on the pavement of the Rambla de Barcelona, close to the Passatge del Crèdit, where he was born 83 years before. His intention was that the walkers on the Rambla walk on the mosaic, and little mattered if became damaged over the years. However, Barcelona City Council was in charge of restoring it in 2006, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the emblematic work of Miró. The mosaics that formed it had deteriorated and had lost color. The mosaic has the circular shape of the cosmos. As of the 2000's I think it could be restored again to the original vibrant colours. |
