Description

A bottle of Mort Subite Gueuze Lambic at a cafe in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The selection of beer at this particular cafe wasn't all that great but as a fan of Gueuze I decided to give this beer a try while waiting for my dinner.

It poured a lovely clear golden color with a huge white head. Aroma was mild, with hints of lambic sourness but also some sweetness. The flavor surprised me with its strong sweet character, the sweetness totally dominated the wild yeast aspect of this beer. I would not dream of calling this a Gueuze, this beer had more in common with a sweet cider.
