A estela, lápida funeraria alta e estreita que sinala a sepultura baixo terra, é a forma típica do medio rural galaico-romano. Estas apareceron illadas ou reaproveitadas en muros de igrexas. Todas elas revelan unh forte influencia romana, ben nos nomes latinizados dos mortos e dedicantes, ben na súa decoración. A presenza de series de arcos, rosetas e crescentes luares, forman parte do repertorio simbólico do tránsito ao alén propio das estelas romanas, nas que se quere expresar a idea de "traspaso" e o destino astral das almas. Manifestan trazos ou simboloxía pagá todas, agás a estela antropomorfa de Victorinus (nº3), cuxa fórmula funeraria "in pace", revela xa unha crenza cristiá. Podemos datar todos estes epígrafes en torno aos séculos III-finais do IV d.C. |
