| Description |
English: Preston England Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Viewed from the field path on the opposite side of the M61 near junction 8, this modern building in its elevated location is a landmark for miles around. This is not a meetinghouse/church/chapel, as the file name misrepresents. Instead, this is a LDS Temple. There are hundreds of meetinghouses in the UK, which are used for common Sunday worship services, fellowship, and cultural activities, and are open to all who wish to attend. There are only two LDS Temples in the UK (the other one is the London England Temple), which are reserved for special forms of worship that can only be performed there, and entrance is restricted to Latter-day Saints in good standing; Temples are not even open on Sunday. |
