| Description |
English: More landslips at Scarborough Taken in February 2010,just after it occurred, this landslip is directly to the side of the old A165 Bridlington to Scarborough coast road. The way things are going it won't be long before this road is closed for good, having been lost to the sea, in much the same way as other notable landslip 'victims' - the Holbeck Hall Hotel and Knipe point, not that far away from here. When the new A165 by-pass was mooted it came in for a lot of criticism from certain quarters but now it seems that the plan to build it was timely and very wise, and the Highways Authority decision to build is entirely vindicated. |
