Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Built in 1750 and expanded in 1761, this building was originally constructed as a blacksmith shop by the Moravian Settlers at Bethlehem, though it was demolished in the 19th Century in favor of new development. The building was reconstructed in 2004 as part of the Colonial Industrial Quarter Outdoor Museum. The two-story building features a rustic stone exterior, side gable clay shingle roof, brick chimneys, six-over-six double-hung windows, red brick arches above most window and door openings, and two door openings on the first floor in the center bays. The building is a noncontributing structure in the Central Bethlehem Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and expanded to include additional buildings in 1988, and is a contributing structure in the Historic Moravian Bethlehem District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a National Historic Landmark in 2012.
