[edit]CAPT Fred P. Moosally, commanding officer of the battleship USS IOWA (BB-61), prepares to present an award to one of the crew members who served with distinction during the No. 2 turret explosion aboard the IOWA on April 19, 1989. The explosion, which occurred during routine gunnery exercises, killed 47 crew members who will be remembered during the ceremony with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
