Summary

[edit]
Description Moore Theatre, Seattle, Washington, during Seattle International Film Festival. The film whose name is on the marquee - In the Land of the Headhunters - was a 1914 silent directed by Edward Curtis, with a cast of Kwakwaka’wakw Native Americans. The film had premiered at the Moore in 1914. The 2008 revival featured a restored print and a dance performance by a Kwakwaka’wakw group, the Gwa’wina Dancers, several of them descendants of actors in the film. See [1] for more about the film presentation.
