Description

NPS/Patrick Myers

Little Bear Peak is part of the Blanca Massif, one of four sacred mountains to the Dine' (Navajo) people. It is located just south of Great Sand Dunes.

The 'pink supermoon' of April 2021 appeared through a light haze of clouds this evening. Its color was due to the timing of the moonrise not long after sunset, as well as atmospheric haze in the San Luis Valley.
